Georgetown on Penang Island has a diverse blend of eastern & western influences from its culture, food, street art to its colonial architecture. Winding down at the main tranquil beach destination Batu Ferringhi, a long stretch of beautiful sand, water and sunsets is a perfect way to end the day. George town is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site which has preserved their heritage buildings such as the Pinang Peranakan Mansion.
It takes about a four hour drive from KL to Penang by car which is the easiest way to travel. You can spend about three days exploring the historic town. The soul of Georgetown has beautiful hotels that were once built during the Colonial era when writers and travelers came by steamships to explore the ‘exotic east’.
